The Burial Grounds Project

Unity Presbyterian Church is a project of the Presbyterian Church of Belize to establish a church in an economically needy area of Belize City known as the Burial Grounds. This area of Belize City is located next to the city cemetery. The project began in 2000 when a hurricane caused severe flooding in this low-lying area. Mission to the World assisted by sending disaster relief teams, who met residents of the community who desired a church.
The project is under the leadership of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church of Belize City. Ernest Betson, and elder of St. Andrews Church, and his wife Caroline, have been commissioned to lead the church planting effort. As the Lord provides, the project may expand to include a school and a medical clinic.
